Ms. Thomas has a Bachelor of Arts in Writing and Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication - Magazine Media, both from Drake University. She graduated in 2019 with University Honors after writing an undergraduate thesis about fairy tales and horror movies-- which she will tell you about with little to no prompting. She is currently working on a Master's Degree in English education. Before becoming a teacher, Ms. Thomas held a variety of jobs: writing tutor, freelance journalist, freelance copy editor, staff copy editor, public relations manager, photographer, bookseller, and several more. Ms. Thomas teaches high school broadcast classes and coaches the speech and debate team. In her free time, she goes to concerts, reads whatever she can get her hands on, and writes cringey poetry.
